Terms of Service

Welcome to VocaPro — a real-world English vocabulary learning app for working professionals. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to the terms below. Please read carefully.

1. Service scope

VocaPro provides an online English vocabulary learning platform featuring industry-based learning paths, a spaced-repetition system (SRS), 3 practice modes (flashcard / quiz / typing), and AI-assisted content generation. The service is available free (FREE plan) or paid (PRO plan) for individuals.

2. Account

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users aged 13–17 require parental/guardian consent.
  • Provide accurate information on signup (real, working email).
  • Keep your password secure — you are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • One person may use only one account. Violations may result in lockout of all related accounts.

3. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

  • Scrape, crawl, or reverse-engineer the service using bots/scripts outside official APIs.
  • Resell, lease, or share your account with others.
  • Abuse AI features (spam requests, prompt injection, intentional disruption).
  • Upload content that infringes copyright, violates law, or harms third-party rights.

4. Your content

Your personal vocabulary vault, notes, and learning data ("User Content") belong to you. You grant VocaPro a non-exclusive license to store, process, and display User Content solely to provide the service. You can export or delete this data anytime via Settings.

5. AI features

VocaPro integrates AI (Anthropic Claude / Google Gemini) to generate definitions, IPA, and examples. AI output may be imperfect — verify before relying on it. VocaPro is not liable for AI-generated content; you may freely edit it in your personal vault.

6. Pro plan & Billing

  • Pro pricing is published at /pricing and may change with 30 days' prior notice.
  • Pro auto-renews at the end of each billing cycle unless canceled.
  • You can cancel Pro anytime in Settings → Billing. Pro features remain active until the end of the paid period.
  • Refunds: full refund within 7 days of first purchase, no questions asked. After 7 days, refunds are at VocaPro's discretion case-by-case.

7. Privacy & Data

VocaPro collects only data necessary to operate the service. See full Privacy Policy for details.

  • Collected: email, password (bcrypt-hashed), vocabulary, learning activity (sessions, time spent, SRS ratings), device/IP (for security).
  • Third parties: Resend (email), PostHog (analytics — no specific personal data), Anthropic + Google (AI generation — user prompts not retained).
  • Retention: data kept during account lifetime. After deletion, soft-deleted for 30 days for recovery, then permanently erased.
  • You can export your data (CSV / JSON) anytime, unlimited, via /vocabulary → Download.

8. Termination

You may delete your account anytime via Settings → Delete account. VocaPro may suspend or terminate accounts on confirmed breach of these Terms, with email notice where feasible. For serious violations (payment fraud, abuse), termination may be immediate without prior notice.

9. Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as-is" without warranty of perfection. VocaPro is not liable for indirect damages (data loss from missing backups, missed opportunities from incorrect AI output, etc.). VocaPro's maximum liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid in the prior 12 months.

10. Changes to Terms

VocaPro may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced via email + in-app banner 30 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law & Contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam. Disputes shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation; failing that, by courts of competent jurisdiction in Ho Chi Minh City.
